DP RP Server - city-park

It was a beautiful day at the park. There was a decent size stage in the middle of the park. The Rebels (Rosa, Ron, Katie, & Ace) were setting up their instruments, making sure they were tuned and all that. "Testing..... Testing.. 1,2,3?" Rosa nervously said through the mic. There weren't a lot of people watching them but that's ok.

Kani- ahem- Kosmic Hunter was one of the people watching, in the skies, on a hoverboard. She was making sure no evil ghosts (namely Ember was in the midnset) was gonna be a problem.

In another part of the park, Samael opened his eyes upon hearing various instruments tuning in the distance. He rose slowly, inclining his head to get a better direction for the sound. "Mm? What's that?"

Rosa groans nervously then takes a breath and looks back at her friends. Once they give her the ready nod, Rosa looks back at her small audience. "Heya everyone! Uhm... Thanks for coming to our show!" She sounded a bit nervous as she spoke through the mic but she kept going. "We are The Rebels and we're going to have fun today! Woooo!" A few people clapped but most are just waiting for the band to start.

Kosmic Hunter laid down on her hoverboard and turned on her ghost scanner while going to look down at the band.

Sam grew more and more curious, hearing the faint microphone in the distance. He couldn’t discern the words or the voice exactly, but it intrigued him nonetheless. Maybe Ethan would have a better idea of what’s up.

Kosmic Hunter was excited, and her hoverboard flew a bit more downwards to get a better view

Ethan throws his backpack out from Sam’s shadow onto the floor and floats through. “Ugh, school is the actual worst, zero out of ten, do not recommend.” He looks over at Sam. “Somethin’ up?”

“Sounds fun.” Sam nodded absentmindedly, his head still watching the direction of the park. “You hear that? Your ears can probably pick it up better than mine.”

Kosmic Hunter's scanner beeps, quietly though. "Ek-" Kosmic Hunter was caught off guard of the sudden beeping. "Damn, time to investigate if that is a threating ghost or not."

Rosa sighs as she waits for her cue. Once Ron played the cue, Rosa started to sing as she played her guitar. After the first line, Ace jumps in to sing with Rosa while playing his bass. The band was doing a cover to Still Into You and they sounded great! More people come up to the stage to listen to the band. The band played better as more people came to watch them.

Kosmic Hunter turns off the noise of the beeping quickly before swiftly flying off and reading the scanner to find the location

He tilts his head and looked in the direction Sam pointed to. “…Hm, some kind of show I think… You wanna go see?” He smiles.

Sam nodded, a small smile gracing his face before suddenly checking his collar. “Lemme double-check my vitals real quick. It’s… been a few days, at least.”

Kosmic Hunter accidentally gets her hoverboard stuck in a treebranch "Fuck." Kosmic Hunter jumped down and tries to free her hoverboard quickly

Ethan rose a brow and looked around at the small noise. “…Huh. Mnh, it’s nothing, what’s the collar say?” He opens a portal and pushed his backpack through to dump it back in his lair.

Kosmic Hunter frees her hoverboard and rechecks her scanner and follows it again at a certain pace

Sam pressed a button, checking the status report from the beep. “Hm. Should be good for now. Just as long as nothing triggers my condition, meaning no food or drink. And no powers.” He briefly tested the grass patch where he slept, which only looked slightly withered but otherwise normal. “Yeah, should be fine. That is,” he looked up, “if you want to go too?”

“Hell yeah! I’m totally down.” Ethan elbows Sam playfully. “And yeah don’t worry, I learned after the last time not to feed you. Now c’mon lets go.” He starts walking in the direction of the noise, he never got to see live music before so this should be pretty fun.

After putting on his hoodie and making sure everything is in place, Sam trailed after his friend, feeling a little hopeful for today. Today should be good.

Kani was up in the skies, and flying closer to the ghost her scanner scanned

There was a bit of a crowd after the band finished their first song. The crowd was cheering. "Wooooo! Glad y'all like that song!" Katie shouted as she plays the drums a bit, being goofy. Her bandmates chuckled at her. Ace then spoke. "I hope y'all ready for the next song!" He shouted, hyping up the crowd.

Kani spotted Samael & Ethan, and checked her scanner, it was directed that the ghost was Ethan "In disguise maybe?" Kosmic Hunter flew down to the two quietly

Ethan glanced around, he was sure he was hearing some kind of engine lingering, but he shrugged it off. It probably just from a generator or something the band was using. He looked back at Sam and went to say something but noticed the person flying overhead, coming towards them, really? “…Um… Hey y’think you’re good enough to handle a crowd?” He asks Sam.

Sam felt a little hesitant, checking to see if there was a chance he could be identified. He didn’t recognize anyone else here aside from Ethan, but… He kept his hoodie up, hiding his hair and face. Then again, everyone was focused on the concert. “I should be fine. Did… do you know if it reached the news? Or, school news, at least?”

"Hey you two! Can I ask a few questions?!" Kosmic Hunter called out to them

“Well… Yeeeeah…” Ethan rubbed his neck. “It’s… ok though. No photos of you anywhere, I think it’s kinda GIW confidential.” He smiles then looked over at the hunter on the glider. “Ok maybe not? Uh… Just… Remain totally calm.”

Kosmic Hunter gets off her hoverboard and walks towards Ethan. She talks in a quieter tone "Sooo, are you a ghost?"

Sam stiffened briefly from his friend’s subtle warning, before relaxing, keeping his hands in his front pocket, his face passive. “Understood,” he whispered. He watched from nearby as the hunter approached his friend.

Ethan looked at Sam then back at the hunter. “No?” Yeah, real convincing, he clears his throat. “I’m not exactly floating or whatever ghosts do, last time I checked I’m alive, why?”

"It's cause my ghost scanner specifically says you aren't overshadowed at all, so you must be a ghost. Please don't lie to me." Kosmic Hunter says while closer to Ethan and on the toes of her boots

“He’s my friend,” Sam piped up. “I would know if he’s a ghost. Maybe that… ghost-finding device of yours needs a fine tuning?“

"Who said ghosts can't disguise? I'm not going to hurt this fellow if they weren't going to plan something." Kosmic Hunter says

Ethan took a step back, uncomfortable with his space being invaded, he looked at Sam as he pitched in, mentally sighing in relief before looking back at the hunter. “I just want to go watch the show with my friend, no trouble here.”

"I really need a lie detector but how do I know he isn't under a sort of spell and you weren't a ghost in disguise?" Kosmic Hunter questioned.

Sam crossed his arms. “We’ve known each other since birth, practically.” He did a quick once-over of the hunter’s suit. “So it’s my experience versus that tracker. Which, mind you, can get faulty. Maybe double check the settings next time before accusing my friend of something he’s not?”

Ethan frowned, feeling somewhat insulted either of them would do any of this. “We’re both not ghosts, we just want to go watch the band play, now will you leave us alone?”

Ethan scoffed. “Rude, look, even if I was a ghost I just want to watch the band play, alright? We’re leaving.” He looked over at Sam, gesturing back to the stage for them to start walking away.

"Just wanted to know your intentions." Kosmic Hunter huffed and jumped on her hoverboard again

Sam followed his lead, waving a curt goodbye to the hunter. He expelled a sigh of relief before turning to his friend, sheepishly wincing. “Sorry about that. Maybe I’m still a little on edge.”

Kani flew off her hoverboard and thought 'Good thing I have those zoom in and zoom out in this helmet.' Kani flew closer to the stage area but still able to see Samael & Ethan and sat on a treebranch

“It’s fine, thanks for covering for me.” Ethan smiles then made a sigh of relief. “Jeez, talk about awful timing huh? I’ve never really dealt with a solo ghost hunter before, but I’m sure she wont be a problem… Maybe.” He clears his throat. “Anyway, music!” He continued on until they were finally reached the edge of the crowd.

Sam smiled, staying close to his friend and finally able to enjoy the music.

Kani uses her vision goggles thing from her helmet to zoom in on Ethan and Samael to see any suspicious activity

The band was playing High Hopes now and they all noticeably look comfortable playing their heart out. Even one of the lead singers was dancing around the stage as she sang. After a few songs, the band walked in front of the stage as they held each hands and took a bow. The crowd seems to enjoy their show. "Thank you all for watching us! This was fun!" Katie shouted happily. Once people started to leave, the band started to pack up their things.

Ethan let out a few last cheers until the band finally started packing away and the crowd dispersed. “Wow, that was great, what did you think?” He turned his attention back to Sam. “I think you can pull the hood down, nobody should recognise you, you’ll be fine.”

Kani thinks, 'Damn it, their convosations are probably more indications of my correctness than this.'

Sam checked around once more, seeing the crowd dispersing. “Yeah. Yeah, maybe.” Less people meant less eyes. He gently put the hoodie down, mindful of tucking it over his collar. “The music was nice. It’s been a while since I heard anything like it.”

“Yeah? I’m pretty sure I caught you doin’ a little shuffle at some point, swaying even.” Ethan teased. “There’s no shame in dancing to some music.”

Kani thinks 'Do something. Ugh, I need drones or something or those bugs.'

Sam shook his head, still smiling. “I’m not the best dancer, sadly. Maybe for high-court etiquette or royalty and whatnot, but that’s not really appropriate in this setting. Ya know.”

Katie noticed the two boys then smiled and waves. "Hiya! Did ya like our show?!" She excitedly asked them. "Katie....relax..." Rosa said with a sigh, packing up her guitar.

Ethan chuckles at the idea of Sam dancing in some kind of refined way, but it would be pretty cool to see. He then looked over at the band members as one called out to them. “Oh, yeah! Loved it! We heard it from over on that hill and decided to come over. You guys were awesome!”

Kani was still following but faraway distance

Sam also perked up, seeing the band call out to them. His chest clenched for a brief moment, but seeing the band seemed friendly and genuine, he loosened up a bit with a smile. “Yeah, y’all sounded great!”

"See, Rosie! We were awesome!" Katie said as her friend chuckled. "I guess. Still feel like we have a long way to go." Rosa sighs as she walks up to Katie. "I'm Rosa by the way. The loud mouth here is Katie." "Hey!" Katie pouts as her friend snickers. "Yo! I'm Ace!" Ace said as he wrapped an arm around Rosa as she looked annoyed. "Hello. I'm Ron." Ron said with a wave then goes back to putting stuff up.

Ethan eyed them all, making sure he had all the faces remembered, then cleared his throat as he realised he may have been staring. “Sorry, I’m Ethan.”

He crossed his arms next to his friend. “You can call me Sam. It’s nice to meet you all.”

"It's nice to meet y'all too!" Katie said as she sits at the edge of the stage. Rosa just stares a bit at Ethan, looks like she's in deep thought. Ace sits next to Katie, letting go of Rosa. "So, you guys heard us over the hill? Sweet! At least we know that we can be heard all over the world." He snickers as Katie just rolls her eyes.

Ethan chuckles and nods. “Yeah, we both heard it.” He mumbled realising he let that one slip, dumbass. Though he caught Rosa staring at him and shifted a bit where he stood, what was with everyone just watching him today? “Um… Is there something on my face?”

Sam heard the slight shift in his friend’s tone and words, watching the band a little more intently. One of them, Rosa as he remembered, seemed to focus on Ethan, almost uncomfortably so. He moved a little closer to Ethan, in case they needed to get away.

There was a ghost hidden among the sparse trees in the park. Seemed like he missed the band, shame. He would have appreciated some live music. Nonetheless, he kept his back to the trunk of the tree- resting on a large branch. He was quietly observing everyone else...wondering if he should make a move, or stay where he was.

"You just look familiar to me. That's all." Rosa quickly answered, flustered that she got caught staring. Ron walks up behind his sister. He looks at Ethan closely. "..... Do you go to Caspar High?"

Well at least this question wouldn’t get him shot. “…Yeah? Why?” Ethan tilts his head.

The high-school? Did she go to there too? Sam cast a glance at Ethan to gauge his response.

"Oh, that explains it." Ron said with a chuckle. "My sis was trying to see if she knew you from somewhere." He explains. Katie looked surprised. "No way! We go to the same school?!" She sounds excited.

“Ethan: “Oh… So that’s it, I don’t really pay much attention to other students though.” He chuckles as he rubbed the back of his head. “But I guess it’s cool knowing that I have schoolmates that are in a band, really cool!”

Rosa smiles softly as she nods. "I remember seeing you talking to Danny a few days ago. I thought I saw you from somewhere." She explains. Katie grins. "Hey, we should hangout together. Y'all seem cool."

“Uh sure, I don’t see why not? But only if Sam’s alright with it.” Ethan looked over at him. “I think meeting new people might ease some of our nerves, don’t you? Just for a bit anyway whilst we figure things out.”

Sam nodded in return, although his eyes were alert. If that was all the matter was, then all was well. But it didn't hurt to keep their wits about them. "I'm not against it."

Kosmic Hunter yawned from a tree 'Damn, did I take a nap?' Kosmic checked the time via the ghost scanner and saw two ghosts scanned in the area. 'Huh? Might as well check the second ghost out.' Kosmic hopped on her hoverboard and flew to the second ghost

Ace playfully smirks. "Sweet. Can't wait to hangout with more cool people. ~" Katie thought for a moment. "Hey, we're free now. We could hangout now."

Ethan hesitated for a moment, but maybe having some time to relax was ideal. “Now? Well um, what did you guys have in mind?” He smiles.

Kani flew her hoverboard behind Crimson "Hello there." Kosmic Hunter says

Sam crossed his arms, letting Ethan lead while gauging his own systems briefly. Everything is good. Besides, they can always back out if things get too much.

By now, Crimson was drifting off a bit. Still bummed he missed the main event, but at least got to enjoy the view of the park from the tree. That wasn't until someone flew behind him, causing the ghost to flinch and stumble out of the tree. "AH!"

"Oops- sorry ghost one." Kosmic Hunter apologized

"Uhhh, you need up?" Kosmic asks

"....I'm. Fine. Thanks." He laid against the tree trunk, now on the ground and upside down. He hoped nobody else nearby had noticed him...

A hearse that may be a bit familiar to at least a couple of people already at the park pulled up along the sidewalk. A 14 year old girl in a wide brimmed hat exited from the passenger's side and opened the rear door through which the coffin would normally be inserted and assisted a distinctly translucent 9 year old boy in a sweater vest and bowtie exit as an older gentleman exited from the driver's side.

Sam shrugged, relaxing his position a bit. "I'm down to explore for a bit. Y'all can lead the way."

The band grins. Katie ran up to a woman and explained that they were walking around the park then headed back to the group with bags in her hands. "My aunt gave us some sweets to eat as we explore the park!" She said happily, handing a bag to the boys.

"Yes father", the boy replied. "Cassandra would you find it in your heart to push me on the swing set? I have not used a swing set since prior to my demise and think that being pushed would be nice"

The young boy smiled a little bit before dashing over to the swing set and waiting for his sister.

She took a moment to adjust her hat before following at a leisurely pace behind her younger brother.

Ethan eyed the bag of sweets then looked at Sam with concern. “Want me to take those or are you gonna pocket them for now?”

Sam guiltily looked down, eying the sweets in his hand. It might be better if Ethan took them for now. "You have the sweet tooth between us, you can have them."

He sat politely on the swing until Cassandra came over and pushed him a few times. He had a rather contented smile on his little face. It was honestly kind of endearing to see.

He nods in understanding, taking the bag from Sam before turning back to the group with a smile. “Alright, you guys can lead the way.”

Vince you wanna go higher?

She pushed Vincent about as hard as she could without falling over herself.

He let out one, extremely understated and politely dictated, "Wee". before jumping off and just hanging out in the air for a moment before slowly descending. "That was quite enjoyable. Thank you Cassandra".

No problemo. What else're big sisters for other than being bossy and annoying? (She ruffled his hair a bit) How about you go play on the jungle gym a bit or something? I bet it's been a while since you've gotten to do that.

He nodded and got down to business, and by business I mean playing on the monkey bars and having a jolly old time all around.

Sam rocked his heels a bit while walking, looking back on the days and nights he counted while with Ethan. The time they spent getting to know each other was rather short. A few weeks, at least? Ethan has been here longer than him, at least. "Would say a few weeks for me."

She eventually sat on the swing herself, mostly just to keep an eye on her brother because she's clearly too old to want to use a swing set, I mean, what 14 year old wants to do something so childish and immature... She might just, swing a little bit though....since she's there and all. Eventually she flicked her head around and saw someone with a hoverboard. They looked somewhat reminecient of that Red Huntress Ghost Getter lady she'd seen on a newspaper once. She threw a quick glance at her younger brother and back at the Kosmic Hunter with some amount of nervous apprehension. Whatever was going on she was not keen on having a ghost hunter anywhere near her little brother; and being perfectly honest she wasn't especially fond of how she was seeming to bother that other Perfectly Innocent Ghost guy who was clearly just minding his own business. "Hey Vince I'm gonna be right back. Yell if you need anything alright?", she said before she got up and approached Crimson Shade and The Kosmic Hunter. "Uhhhh,,, hey is everything like, okay here??", she gave Crimson a concerned glance before diverting her attention to the Kosmic Hunter.

"Modern life? But your a ghost?" Kosmic quizzed again

"Oh, so you noticed the ghosts too?" Ron asked, looking at Ethan. "We noticed a few ghosts when we first moved here." Rosa added while eating her sweet.

Sam couldn’t help but chuckle. “That’s Amity Park for you. Might as well call it the ghost capital of the country. Heck… maybe the world.”

Ugh, sorry cool gas mask guy. I kinda just moved to this town and I swear it's like this place is totally backwards. My brother cried earlier because someone at this awful restaurant realized he was a ghost and they literally didn't even have any blood???? Like, what the hell... So yeah, sorry I was just worried that someone was being ectophobic at you or something and I cannot stand bigots like that.

“Kinda hard to miss ‘em.” He laughs and nods towards Sam. “Yeah, they’re just everywhere here, but they aren’t that much of a bother so far.”

He flies down on earth in his little ship as then he gets out This earth seems… bigger than I thought. I quickly change into my human form

Not bad of sense, but more like a thing like how Ember tried mind controlling with her music, that one weird ghost who is also a hunter, Spectra making kids miserable and feeding off of it, etc. So when a more passive ghost is there, some aren't that used and may start off a wrong impression."

He eventually got up from the bench with a dadish grunt before going over to his children, "I think I've pondered through that scene I was stuck on. Vincent, would you like to play a little longer or would you rather head home?"

He slid in his bookmark and closed the book he'd been reading, "I think I am about ready to leave. Thank you for bringing me father, I had a pleasant time".

He kissed his son's forehead and lead his children back into his hearse and left the park

Sam noted the hill in sight, letting Aether drop him when they were close enough to the ground, while making sure Phantom was still following. With a quick thanks, he hurried to the pile to grab whatever is useful in the moment while double-checking his vitals. "Since our last encounter, they'll likely have increased their defenses, especially against ghosts. However," he grabbed the headgear, which included a battle-mask, and the main chest piece, checking over for any notable gaps, "we can still use the element of surprise. Like a two-pronged attack or a diversion or something." But for that to be possible, they would need communication.

Danny would land next to them with a huff, whilst dusting off some dirt from his black and white jumpsuit "Alright. So I'm guessing someone can be the bait whilst the other goes in to shut down the defenses or.....what's the plan."

“I’m good with being the distraction if needed, you guys can make your way inside, find the sample then get out of there, I’m pretty good at making a scene.” He smirks proudly then glanced back at Danny, crossing his arms. “You think you can keep an eye on Sam for me whilst you’re in there?”

Sam's mouth thinned to a line, before checking his other gear. Aside from those two pieces, one gauntlet was all he could use for now. No matter, it would be useful for wielding the sword if the situation grew dire. All the other parts were still in disrepair and needed more time. "Well, better this than nothing at all." Aether offered up to be bait, so that left him and Danny to infiltrate. He knew the layout very well, if it's the same as the base in Elmerton in his timeline. Sadly, the earpiece in his mask was built-in, and would be useless without a secondary one for connection. Knowing his past missions, this would inevitably end in failure if they didn't have any way to communicate with each other. "Anyone else have a spare earpiece? Or any device that has a private signal and can receive auditory information?" he asked, turning to the two.

"And this is why I started bringing my family's tech around." He'd press a button on his glove as a little floating plate would be spat out from his chest like a bubble of some sorts. It looked useless until Danny would select the Fenton Phones from a holographic screen, the plate now fabricating said communication devices "Fenton Phones!" :D

He rose a brow and chuckles. “I keep forgetting your family put Fenton before everything, the names for your gadgets are fairly amusing.” Aether eyes the Fenton phones and hummed, swaying his tail back and forth. “Do you think you can link these with yours Sam?”

Sam nodded, also impressed and relieved that Danny would have a device at hand (or chest). "As long as we can get into the same channel and have a signal, it should work." He quickly operated on the device in his headgear. "I'm putting my earpiece on channel five. Check it with yours."

He'd tap into Fenton Phones with a slight chuckle "Yeah...personally I'd call them 'Whisper Pieces' or something cooler but I'll stick to whatever my parents named their inventions. So...I'm guessing y'all were close to another me or what?" He'd be twisting a dial on the ear piece to change the channel to the recommended option

“Sort of? I go to Casper High here with the guy, he was my school guide for my first week there because he was so good with some Gregor guy.” Aether smiled slightly, those first few days were fun, but after finding out what each other were it made things a bit more difficult. “…We’re still getting used to each other now, but it’s nothing major.” He mumbled, loosely kicking at the grass.

Sam paused for a moment, thinking over the question. "You can say that. Not the Danny here, but... yeah. We're good friends." He resumed to meddling with the earpiece's volume, speaking briefly through the receiver after a few moments. *"Testing. Hel, reaching Whisper Pieces. Good check?" * (edited)

Danny would rub his tired eyes and equip his own 'Whisper Piece', although to him it will always be Fenton Phones due to habit "Check check, Phantom is haunting the building?"

“I guess it depends on how well you take care of my bud Sam on this whole mission thing,” He looked over at Sam. “How’s that working for you?”

He adjusted the receiver, finally hearing Danny's voice through it. "Yep, all clear." Well, he'll have to get prepped up, swiftly taking off his hoodie and jeans. The night was settling in, meaning a cover of darkness for the next few hours. "Alright. When we get there, Aether will provide a diversion on the front. We'll take that opportunity to kill the defenses. Then, find the way to the main lab and record rooms from there." He hummed in thought. "They usually would have a map layout of the entire facility near the front desk. We can go there after the defenses are down."

Danny would adjust his ear piece as he spoke "Alright, so Mission I.G.I.W.B is a go.....stands for Infiltrate GIW Base if anyone cared. No? Okay- Let's do this."

“To be fair both don’t really roll off the tongue too well.” He chuckles then nods as Sam discussed the plan and stretched out, a small ‘mrrp’ being heard as he does. “Alright, you ready for me to carry you again?” Aether offered his hand out towards Sam.

Sam went to his armor, slipping on the chest gear and headpiece, tucking his hair in while doing so. The usable gauntlet was slipped onto his left arm, covering it from his wrist all the way down to the elbow. His bodysuit had repaired itself to its normal functions, albeit he knew better than to stretch it past its limits. After making sure everything is comfortable and in place, and testing the base functions of the armor to make sure they're working properly, he turned to Ethan. "Yeah. Just be mindful of the plating on the back."

"Huh. Sweet armor, dude." He'd scan the area with his suit's built-in tech before stretching his limbs which resulted in a loud crack "Auuugh! ...I just HAD to be thrown out that portal and not just be ✨gently✨ placed down."

“To be fair we didn’t intentionally throw you here, walk it off.” Aether shrugs as he carefully lifted Sam, keeping in mind to avoid the ridges on the back plating, cautiously looking around before heading towards the bridge to Elmerton. “Alright, where should I dump you both off? I can make a scene at the front entrance and bring whatever they have my way, so I can take you to the ridge towards the back? I did blast a pretty good sized hole back there when I last went in so.”

Sam looked down, trying to remember the exact layout of the building. "Yeah, that could work. The downside is that it may be well-guarded, so... we could try to enter through the back if the guards are distracted."

"Mm...chances are that they have the back guarded now as well after such an entrance your cat-ghost friend says they made." He'd click his tongue with crossed arms, thinking to himself

His tail flicked in annoyance at… Well yeah it was accurate, but still. “Well what about the side of the building? I mean there’s gotta be a window or a vent right?” The trio soon made it to the bridge and were moving across the waters, Aether’s grip on Sam tightening as he recalled what happened the last time he put him in water.

Sam tried to recall any information regarding the facility. "When they pulled me in here, it wasn't at the front entrance. So there has to be another way in for unloading cargo and supplies, maybe a side entrance or... a hidden emergency exit." He felt Aether's grip tighten on him as they crossed over the river. “Dude you literally called the Fentons your parents back there.” Aether looked back at Danny with a fairly blank look. “I also said I go to school with you, er well, my Danny anyway. So yes, we do.” He chuckles and nudged him playfully with an elbow. “If you’ve managed to keep your identity secret wherever your from talking like that then that’s pretty crazy.” They made it to the other side of the river, the base not too far from the river’s edge. —> #giw-headquarters

Sam handed him the sample, still kept in its vial. "Here. Although, if you ever want to quickly destroy it, I can take care of that too."

“Are you ok to do that though?” He rose a brow at him.

Sam reassured him with a smile, tapping to his own chest. "One of the benefits of being an abyssal alien. But I wouldn't offer if you wanted it for any reason. Keeping it around, even in your place, would still technically carry a risk, but... it's your choice."

Aether hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Fair enough, you’re welcome to destroy it then.”

Sam nodded in understanding before activating something on his armor, indicated by the sudden decompression on his chest and red glow of the seal markings underneath. The plating opened up, alongside the main bodysuit underneath, to reveal the hole in his chest. Taking the blood vial to his chest, he swiftly passed it to the darkness inside. Within moments, it was no more.

Aether eyed the hole curiously, he remembered seeing it before but… still. “…Does it feel weird when you put stuff in there?”

Sam turned expressionless, save for his eyes which showed mild discomfort. "Weird? Well... it's nothing that I haven't felt before. I wouldn't have offered otherwise."

Aether nods as the triangles around his waist spread over him.

“I just wanted to ask since you have a literal void in your chest, anyone ever stuck their hand in it?”

"Not willingly," Sam muttered. Glancing at his friend, he immediately shook his head, his eyes wide and alarmed. "And I wouldn't advise it!"

He rose a brow at Sam’s sudden blurt. “Dude I’m not gonna just touch your hole without permission.” He blinked then chuckled. “Wow just… pretend I didn’t say that, anyway, what happened to those who put their hands in unwillingly?”

Sam waved it off, not catching the accidental slip. Although, the last question left his mouth in a thin line, thinking of how to phrase it properly. "Same way the vial ended up now. If a person of interest was particularly stubborn in withholding information, it helped... loosen lips, so to speak."

“…Yeah I’m not gonna touch that then.” He rubs his neck then eyed Sam for a moment. “…So, what’s the armour for?”

A little relieved to change topics, Sam decided to take off the main pieces. "Master... well, one of her main subordinates crafted it for me personally to help complete missions with ease. Said it was uniquely attuned to my body, so to speak. Some of its base functions include stronger seals that help temper my nature, allowing me more control. Also grants protection against any natural or supernatural effects that can harm me... well, once all the pieces are repaired." He glanced at the rest of the parts near the tree. "Which won't be for a while."

He hums and sat down on the grass with a huff. “…Well seeing as I can’t bring another building down on us, you said Pariah’s a problem for you too?”

Sam frowned, banishing the darker thoughts at the mention of the name. "Yeah. I... I'm sorry. He's someone that I... my entire existence wants revenge against. It's hard to explain the feeling because it's more than that." He laid out the armor on the grass, his eyes turning to Ethan. "You're planning something, aren't you?"

“No, I’m not.” Ethan frowned and crossed his arms. “If I wanted to do anything to the guy I’d have done it by now, he’s still in his dumb box. I just wanted to make sure I heard you right this time.”

Sam's eyes flashed with something indiscernible, before he looked back down to the ground. "All the more reason I should find a way back to my time. I don't want to screw things up here, but if I stay... something bad will happen." The voice in that rift echoed in his mind. "Danny wasn't who I saw in there. Someone knows I'm here."

Ethan gave him a concerned look. “…Something bad? What did you see in there?”

Sam closed his eyes, recalling the voice. The whispers still echoed loud and clear, and his chest nearly vibrated in return, feeling that familiar pull. "The presence of another Wraith Herald." (edited)

“…Wait, but that rift was opening on its own right? Does that mean they know you’re here?” He stands up, seeming a bit more alert now.

Sam's eyes flashed a faint red when he opened them. "Perhaps. Heralds can sense each other across alternate realities because of our ties to the abyss. That rift may no longer exist on the material plane, but it's still there." He grew concerned. "As far as I know, this is a world who remained untouched by the abyss. Perhaps by stumbling here on accident, my existence allowed it to slowly seep into this reality, starting with that rift. Which means..." (edited)

“…The abyss?” Ethan paused for a moment and took a step back. “I… What do you mean by your ties to it? The abyss here is just an empty gap between worlds, it’s nothing but emptiness in there.”

Sam shook his head. "It's... a part of us, something I can't really describe, other than being our source. A sentient, incomprehensible space that cannot coexist here. That's why this world continues to reject my presence, and vice versa." To us, you were the abyss. And if we controlled that power, we can control anything. Humanity can break free of fate itself and transcend. Those sickening words still rang clear, painfully so. He turned to the sword by his hip, his eyes wavering. "I... I do know some Heralds are still sealed, so I can narrow the list down to a potential few. Unfortunately, they're extremely dangerous and powerful. And if any of them reach here, a world who never knew our kind..." He shuddered. "All the more reason I have to leave." (edited)

“Huh…” Ethan thought for a moment before looking back at Sam. “So what’s happening to you here is the opposite of what happened to me in there?”

Sam nodded, turning back to his gear before trying to continue his repairs on some parts. "Kinda. You can say my-its enemy is any existence that is not itself, or of itself. That's why my powers manifest themselves the way they are. It's a never-ending war between two different natures. And eventually, one has to rise out on top." (edited)

“Hm, well the abyss here just made me all green and furry. I looked pretty much like myself as a ghost at first.” He shrugs. “Anyway, maybe we can use another rift to send you back?”

That earned a snicker. "Yep, but a part of you still remains. You are still Ethan, my friend." The mention of creating another rift made Sam frown. "It's not that simple. Considering our, uh, friend was from another reality when he went through the portal, not to mention that its hold on reality was weakening thanks to your power, it means that... well, unless I know the exact location of my world, the odds of that happening are almost null." He shuddered. "Not to mention with the Herald actively searching for me, interacting with those rifts recklessly would be equivalent to a diver who swims in shark-infested waters, ignoring the blood escaping his body." “Got it… So we’re back to square one when it comes to getting you home?” Ethan huffed as he kicked at the ground. “Great… Just great... Any idea on how long until that thing could potentially make its way here?”

Sam merely shrugged. "I don't know. It depends on which Herald it is. I only heard its voice, and it's... a faint memory at best." He ruminated the names in his mind of who it could be, but paused after sensing his friend's frustration. "I'm sorry about all this. I didn't want any of this to happen."

Ethan made his way back over to the tree, having his stuff reappear with a snap of his fingers as he sat down on his bean bag with a huff. “I don’t know what you’re apologising for… The only thing I’m actually bothered about is you digging up crap about Pariah, if you needed to know anything about the guy you could have asked me and not risked your life and mine.” He rubs his face. “But it’s whatever. You got your information and it’s just ‘he’s in a box’.”

"Fair point." Sam agreed with that, his chest tightening. "Probably like I mentioned it before. I know this Pariah isn't the same and didn't commit this crime, but... he's the reason why we Heralds exist. Before our current state, we were originally one entity, a monster that he created for his own purposes." He scuffed one part of the armor, making him narrow his eyes. "That existence was hell." “I get that dude, but that’s your Pariah, not mine.” Ethan crossed his arms as he looked over at him. “Your Pariah’s still a dick for putting you through that, I hope you find your Pariah and cram him into your chest.”

Sam stifled a noise, before looking up. "Yeah. I have no history with yours. Although, it does beg the question in my mind: if we did exist in this world, would yours have done the same? Abuse others for his own gain, regardless of the cost? " His eyes softened with concern at Ethan, with another silent question. The events of the warehouse didn't escape his memory, or the fact that Ethan mentioned him to be, oh so eloquently, "locked in a box." Has he? (edited)

Ethan was quiet for a moment before sitting up. “Pariah uses anything and anyone to get what he wants, so yes, he probably would. I mean he’s a fucking tyrant so what wouldn’t he do to rule everything?” He huffed in annoyance then looked down, his shoulders sagging. “He even used me at one point.”

Sam's eyes softened at the last statement, but he otherwise closed his mouth and stayed silent. This was Ethan's moment; whether he wished to continue or not was his choice.

“…Sam I… Pariah had me attack and destroy other ghosts, innocent people who were nothing but kind to me, I never wanted to hurt them let alone… I…” Ethan ran a hand through his hair as he let out a huff. “He knew I was unstable under physical or emotional distress, or if my energy levels became too low. The more times I got into that state the more it hurt me too.”

Sam still listened and stayed silent, but he took in everything his friend said with understanding. He wasn’t sure if Ethan would want to hear his condolences, but the pain he mentioned in… it was all too familiar. They were both used. Both hurting. Both trying to make do with what they had.

“So, Sam, I am asking you as a friend. Please just… Don’t get involved with him, dealing with one Pariah is more than enough, face your own.” Ethan was pleading with him at this point, he just wanted his friend safe and the last thing he wanted was for Pariah to get between them. “If you are looking for your Pariah he’s probably in the same case mine is too, he’s in Pariah’s Keep.”

Sam nodded slowly with resolution, repeating Ethan’s words in his mind. “I promise.” The Keep, trapped inside the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep… of course. Where it all began. That’s where I’ll end it. Sam turned back to his armor. “So that’s inside the Ghost Zone… all the more reason to finish this.”

“…So,” Ethan stood up. “We still need to get you back home, can you remember how exactly you got here in the first place? Maybe that’ll help us recreate whatever happened.”

Sam closed his eyes, attempting to recall the events. "I... remember being back at one of the organization's facilities, recovering from a dangerous battle. That's when I sensed one of those rifts nearby in my world... but the events after that are a haze. Danny... Danny wasn't there, but I think I heard his voice somewhere... yes, I must've heard it through the rift. But before I knew what was happening, it pulled me inside, into a chaotic space. I had to physically claw and tear through that darkness to escape... i-if it weren't for that voice, I wouldn't have ended up here." He sighed, opening his eyes. "On the outskirts of Amity Park." “…Ah… Well I guess we can’t exactly recreate that then if the rifts open randomly… And the whole calling you part.” Ethan sighs and kicked at the grass once again. “What’d happen if I went into a rift?”

Sam frowned, crossing his arms. "I... don't really know. Like I said, it's a chaotic space with its own laws. But, since it's essentially composed of the same nature as myself, it won't be good. My best guess is it'll try to overwhelm you down to the core." He tried to be reassuring. "The hardest part about this is moreso the exact location. It'll be difficult to accomplish unless there's a way for me or anyone here to reach someone in my world. Or resonate with anything there that isn't abyssal in nature." (edited)

“Oh… Damn. I was gonna say I could try to go into one that’s opening and maybe do something in there to get you to come through, guess not.” Ethan huffed and tapped his foot on the ground. “…I’m stumped then. I just… I can make portals but rifts are a whole other business. If I had the reality gems I could have done something but I have no idea of those things even still exist or where to find them.”

“Yeah, something of that level of power would help.” Sam raised an eyebrow, thinking of a past. “Danny mentioned something of a reality gauntlet, but that was destroyed. And I’m not gonna investigate the G.I.W. again.” It seemed it was a dead end for now.

“He destroyed them? Well so much for that then.” He grumbled and fell back onto the beanbag again. “Ugh… It’s too late to be talking about this… I’m gonna go to bed and hopefully we can come up with something by morning, or at least know where to start looking.”

Sam nodded, since it was very late into the night by now. He’ll keep himself busy tonight with more repairs. “Yeah, no worries. Have a good night. We’ll figure it out eventually.” (edited)

With that he floated up to the makeshift hammock and flopped onto it, huddling up with a huff as he rubbed a hand against his side, that wound felt like pins and needles so far.

Sam eyed his friend, noting him rubbing his side with caution. By all purposes, the vial should’ve worked on him. Guilt plagued his mind of the incident, knowing it was his own fault that his friend had to still suffer like this. He quickly darted his eyes down. Might as well put all this energy into his task at hand.

from a distance, Ares has been spying on the two ghosts for the past while and even still things didn’t make sense to her. Namely how they got into this dimension and their beef with Pariah, but who doesn’t with that guy? She just takes a mental note of it while she tries to suppress her ectosigniture “These kids got issues” she whispered to herself, though her spying did make her sound like a bit of a hypocrite. She backs into a darker section of the woodsy part of the park, ready to either make a swift getaway or defend herself.

He shuddered slightly and rubbed his face. “Ugh come on… Really? Now?” He turned around in the hammock to look down at Sam. “Hey dude, uh, y’mind just hanging here for a bit? Nothin’ to worry about, I think there’s either a ghost nearby or I just got a random chill.”

Sam looked up briefly, his eyes alert. “Yeah, that’s fine. Go and do what you need to do.” Besides, it would’ve been a matter of time before something else wandered around here, so he wasn’t surprised if it was a ghost.

He nods and morphed into his ghost form again.

"I'll be back in a sec." He floated off in the direction where he sensed the ghost.

great, she was spotted. Ares sighs at full volume because the kid’s going to find her either way. She also undampens her ectosigniture so the one heading towards her knows where she is. Honestly she just wants to talk and hopefully this ghost will too. “I come here in peace, dude. Listen I am really sorry about the spying bit but I happened to be in the area when you came here but I didn’t know if you guys were threats or not so I just stayed back here. I don’t know how I ended up in this universe and I just thought you guys might be in the same boat as me.” she wordumps, she tends to do that when nervous. Honestly she’s just really confused and scared. She wants to go home and see her girlfriend and dad again but she doesn’t know how to go home.

"Hm? Threats? I... Uh... No? We're not threats we're just hanging out." He rose a brow. "Hang on, you got stuck here too?" Actually I ended up here when you got back from whatever you were doing beforehand. she makes hand gestures corresponding to what she was saying i’m just lucky to find other people in my position. Anyways, My name’s Ares, what’s yours?”

He eyed her carefully, making sure their body language read as true, he then held his hand out with a smile. "Name's Aether."

grabs hand and gives a firm but not bone crushing handshake “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Aether.“lets go after a couple of seconds as to not be weird, well weirder. “its a really weird coincidence that me you and your friend all ended up here, my running theory has something maybe to do with Clockwork but they aren’t really known to travel across the multiverse. Well my version of them doesn’t at the very least. Then again a million different things could have caused this and as far as I’m assuming, we aren’t the only three affected by this, but again, that’s just a theory” a game theory

He frowned at the mention of Clockwork then tuts. “Yeah no, I would have smelled that guy from a mile away. I think all of this is someone else’s doing.”

notices Aether’s change in expression when she mentioned CW, she’ll keep that in mind for future interactions as to not mentally overwhelm a new friend. “It might be best to see if others are in the same boat as us, strength in numbers and all of that.”

Aether nods. “Maybe, but let’s not just ask around with random people, we’d sound pretty crazy if we did that.” He swayed his tail back and forth before looking back towards the hill. “Hrm, well I should head back over to my friend, stay out of trouble.” He smiles as he floated up

“Sure, see you around. If you need me, I’ll be on your way. See ya, Aeth, don’t be a stranger.” summons spectral axe and uses it to open a portal and hops through it, turning around to give him a smile and thumbs up.

“…Hm, cool.” He smiles and floats back to the tree. “Yeah false alarm, wasn’t anything I could handle.”

Sam gave a brief smile, a little relieved. “That’s good.” At least they were safe for now.

“You come up with anything while I was away?” He returned to his roost and shifted back.

Sam shook his head, crossing his arms. “It’s only been a few minutes, so… unfortunately.” It wasn’t a problem that could be solved in a short amount of time. “Don’t worry, I’ll think of something. Before this is finished.”

He nods and lies back down, letting out a small huff. “Right right, well sleep… er… rest well dude. Will see you in the morning.”

Sam nodded curtly, briefly scanning the park while his friend hunkered down for the night. “I’ll keep watch.”

Ethan yawned as he eventually awoke in the morning, looking around before turning around. “Mornin’ Sam.” He groaned out as he stretched.

Sam turned his head, seeing Ethan stirring awake. “Morning, sleepyhead.” As usual, he’d been up all night trying to fix his gear. Unfortunately, with little progress. “Any dreams tonight?”

“…Oh, nothing different to the usual stuff.” He shrugs and hops down. “How’s your gear coming?”

Sam sighed, crossing his arms. “Not so great, to be honest. Half an arm guard maybe.” He couldn’t help but glower at the pieces in frustration. That damn kitsune had to make this kind of technology nearly impossible to fix.

“Hm, maybe I can help? I used to help forge anti-ghost weapons and armour before, some of those skills could be transferable.”

Sam raised both eyebrows, feeling a little hopeful. Having his friend help out would make the process easier, at least. “Hmmm, if you don’t mind wanting to help. Angrbo-I mean, the organization I used to work for, they were the supplier for the G.I.W, including their technology. But, I’m not sure how different anti-wraith technology is from anti-ghost weapons. Let alone a specialized wraith battlesuit like this.” He laid out the unfinished arm guard. “You can try a gander at this.” (edited)

He walked closer to the arm guard, inspecting over it carefully. “Well the basic structure’s all there… I don’t have any materials on me though, maybe… Do you think we can head to Casper High with it? I think I know someone who can help.”

Casper High? Sam thought it over. “Bring it to the highschool? Hmm…” Sam hadn’t been to Casper High in this timeline, mainly due to sticking around the park for the majority of his stay. Besides, the last time he visited the school, it was to… “I’m not against it, and I can cover myself as your out-of-town friend while there, but wouldn’t it be a bit strange to just show up with a fragmented battle-suit?” He looked up at Ethan, gesturing to the pieces. “People will no doubt ask questions, unless you got a good explanation for all this.”

“Cosplay.” He states bluntly.

Sam blinked. Twice. Then he face-palmed. “You’re a genius, you know that?”

“Yeah I know.” He nudged him playfully then got back on his feet. “Think you can fit all of this in your bag?”

The bookbag? Sam doubted it could carry all the parts, given its small stature. “I don’t think so…” He had another idea. “But it can go into the Ghost Zone. You think you can store it in your space for a bit, until we can get to the school?”

“I… Guess I can. I’ll open a portal in my locker to make it look like it was in there then, can’t exactly open one in front of my teacher.” He chuckles. “We can carry it to the class from there.”

Sam nodded, somewhat relieved. “Alright. We can store the full pieces too for reference.” But despite this plan, a sense of apprehension stirred in his gut. Well, it was now or never. Getting this suit finished as quickly as possible would make his goal of returning home much easier.

“Sure thing.” He nods and opens a portal on the ground. “Put it all in there and we’ll get going.”

Sam gathered up everything carefully, making sure not to miss any pieces. Eying the portal, he was cautious not to touch the portal’s ectoplasm while storing the suit inside. “There. No accidents either.”

“Great!” He snaps his fingers to make all his stuff disappear again, the portal closing with a small zap. “Let’s go.”

Sam nodded, mentally noting the sun was already rising in the sky. “You lead the way.”

He nods and looked around before walking in the direction of the school, making his way down the small hill and past the lake.

Sam stayed close behind, making sure to keep his hoodie up for as much protection from the sun as possible. They stayed relatively in the shade too.

The pair soon reached the park’s edge and started to enter the town streets. “So, the battle suit thing, what’s the coolest thing you can do with it?” He figured he’d try to keep things from being awkward or quiet. —> #amity-streets
